About the Klein GO Committee
The Committee for Global Opportunities in the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication provides faculty oversight and curricular development for Klein's Global Opportunities programs, the International Communication Concentration (ICC), and the International Communication Minor (ICM). The Committee is responsible for ensuring that the efforts of the office and programming align with the Klein Global Opportunities Mission, Goals and Objectives.

Directive and Mission

The Committee for Global Opportunities in the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication provides faculty oversight and curricular development for Klein's Global Opportunities programs, the International Communication Concentration (ICC), and the International Communication Minor (ICM).

The committee's mission is to enhance the quality and curricular effectiveness of Klein's Global Opportunities programs and to forward the internationalization and globalization elements of the Klein mission in general.

Duties

The Committee for Global Opportunities is responsible for:

  • developing curricula for Klein's off-campus international and intercultural programs
  • guiding the review process of courses offered by our host or partner organizations on the ground in our program locations
  • curricular maintenance and updating for the ICC and ICM
  • providing academic advising for students in the ICC and ICM
  • guiding the selection of faculty leaders for all programs that have one (more details below)
  • approving proposals for new programs
  • assisting the Global Opportunities office in the management of Klein's relationships with the University's Overseas Campuses (e.g., Temple Rome and the Temple University Japan Campus [TUJ])

Committee Meetings & Minutes

The Committee for Global Opportunities will be meeting monthly throughout the semester. The meeting minutes for each meeting are available after they have been approved by the Committee by request for Klein faculty. 

Faculty Program Leader Oversight

The Committee is responsible for reviewing and recommending faculty program leaders for ongoing Global Opportunities Programs. The Committee establishes the Faculty Program Leader Eligibility Criteria and Responsibilities in advance of the call for proposals each semester.
