Financing the Experience
financing the experience
Global Opportunities strives to make our programming financially accessible to all students. Financial planning is a part of the conversation between students and our office as they begin exploring their options.

Students are expected to submit a $500 non-refundable program deposit to secure their placement on a program. This deposit is due within their enrollment period, outlined on each program page. Program deposits are payable via TU Pay, check, or money order.

On each individual program page, students can find details regarding the specific costs associated with their program. Each program has two types of costs: billable and non-billable. Billable costs include:

  • Temple tuition -  based on their tuition rate at Main Campus; visit the Bursar’s website to calculate your tuition rate. Tuition rates are subject to change and are updated in July for the upcoming academic year.
  • the University Services Fee - all students are assessed the non-refundable University Services Fee every semester or summer when taking courses. The University Services fee is a single, comprehensive fee that helps fund a number of university services, including funding for computer equipment and technologies to provide support for the students' academic experiences, including e-mail access, the university's Canvas site, and more.
  • the Klein GO Program Fee - amenities included in the Klein GO Program Fee vary from program to program, however students can always expect that the program fee would cover housing, their international health insurance, on-site and pre-departure orientations, and more. For a full list of what is included in your student's program fee, please visit the page of the program in which your student will be participating.
Non-billable costs include, but are not limited to, passports and visas, flights, meals, daily expenses and cell phone rentals. Students are expected to finance these through personal means rather than have them applied to their Temple bill.

Students are eligible to utilize their financial aid towards their program costs and are encouraged to meet with Student Financial Services for further details. In addition to financial aid packages, students are encouraged to utilize our scholarship database for potential supplemental funding for their program.

Withdrawing from a Program

Should a student wish to withdraw from a program, they must notify Global Opportunities in writing. Students must adhere to Temple University’s tuition policy in regards to refunds for tuition. Each program has their own refund policy in regards to the program fee. Students are encouraged to read their program’s Fee Payment and Refund Policy carefully when enrolling in their respective program.Sample Fee Payment and Refund Policy is available here for your reference. Dates and amounts are based on the program costs and payment dates.
